Pumpkin Stencil Generator
Type a name, get a carve-ready pumpkin stencil. Automatic bridges keep the middle of O, B, A and friends attached — sized for your pumpkin, free to print.
Black = carve through. Bridges are added automatically so the middle of letters like O, B and A stays attached to the pumpkin. Print the sheet, tape it to your pumpkin, poke along the black lines, then cut.
How it works
Every letter you type is converted into a black-and-white carving template: black areas are cut all the way through your pumpkin, white areas stay. The tricky part of letter stencils is the enclosed “islands” — the middle of an O, B,P, A or R would fall out (or in!) once you cut around it. This generator detects every island automatically and addsbridges — thin strips that stay uncut — so your letters hold their shape on the pumpkin.
Picking a pumpkin size
Choose the size that matches your pumpkin: 5 in for small pumpkins, 7 in for the classic medium, 9 in for large ones and 12 in for the giant you had to carry with both arms. The printed sheet is calibrated to real physical inches, so measure your pumpkin’s face, pick the closest size, print, and go.
Carving tips for letter stencils
- Tape the stencil flat — letters warp easily on curved surfaces. A few extra pieces of tape beat a crooked E.
- Poke along the black lines with a thumbtack or poker tool first, then remove the paper and cut with a small saw.
- Cut the smallest, innermost shapes first — islands and counters — then work outward.
- If your word is long, a 5–7 in width keeps letters thick enough to survive carving.
